BCR Associates Achieves EcoVadis Silver 2026 – Ranked in the Top 6% for Sustainability
We have some great news to share! BCR Associates has been awarded the EcoVadis Silver Medal for 2026, with an overall score of 79/100. That puts us in the 94th percentile of the 175,000+ companies EcoVadis assesses worldwide.
The Silver Medal is awarded to companies placing in the top 15% globally, BCR Associates’ score of 79/100 places us towards the top of that band, at the 94th percentile, meaning we rank in the top 6% of all companies assessed.
A year ago, we held a Bronze rating at the 69th percentile. Moving to Silver in a single assessment cycle took real work across the business, and we’re very proud to have made such a big jump.
What Is EcoVadis and Why Does It Matter?
EcoVadis is one of the world’s most trusted independent sustainability rating platforms, covering more than 175,000 companies in 180+ countries. The methodology is aligned to the UN Global Compact, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and ISO 26000, which means a silver rating is not a self-awarded badge. It is independently verified evidence of how a business manages sustainability across its operations.
What makes EcoVadis particularly robust is the depth of what it examines. For each theme, it assesses three layers:
- Policies: whether sustainability commitments are formally documented and reviewed
- Measures: whether those commitments are backed by real actions, targets and programmes
- Reporting: whether performance is tracked and disclosed, so commitments cannot be made and forgotten
This three-layer approach means a strong EcoVadis score cannot be achieved through paperwork alone. It requires evidence that sustainability is embedded in how a business actually operates.
Companies are assessed across up to four themes: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Which themes apply to a given company is determined by EcoVadis based on the company’s size, industry sector and geographic location, not chosen by the company itself. BCR Associates was assessed across three themes in 2026: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, and Ethics.
How Our Scores Evolved
Here is how our 2026 results compare to 2025:
- Ethics: 71/100 → 94/100
- Environment: 58/100 → 84/100
- Labour & Human Rights: 58/100 → 72/100
- Overall: 61/100 → 79/100 (94th percentile, top 6% globally)
Our Ethics score of 94/100 is a particular highlight, reflecting the governance frameworks, whistleblower procedures, anti-bribery training, and information security policy we have put in place. The jump in our Environment score from 58 to 84 is directly linked to actions taken under our published Carbon Reduction Plan, including transitioning to electric and hybrid vehicles, installing real-time energy monitoring at our Exeter office, and committing publicly to net zero by 2030.
“This result reflects the work the whole team has put into making sustainability a genuine part of how we operate, not just something we report on. For our clients, it’s independent validation that when we talk about carbon reduction and ESG, we hold ourselves to the same standards we ask of them.”
Richard Dormer, Managing Director, BCR Associates
What This Means for Our Clients
As supply-chain ESG disclosure requirements tighten across UK and European regulation, organisations are increasingly required to provide verified evidence of their sustainability performance to customers, investors and regulators. Our Silver status means clients can reference BCR Associates’ EcoVadis rating directly in their own supply chain disclosures, backed by independent verification, not just our word for it.
It matters for our credibility too. We advise clients on energy procurement, carbon reduction and ESG reporting, and we apply the same rigour to our own sustainability management that we bring to every client engagement.
What We’re Working on Next
Silver is a significant achievement and puts us within reach of EcoVadis Gold, awarded to the top 5% globally. That's our goal for next year. Getting there means continuing to strengthen the areas this assessment scored us on:
- Progressing our Carbon Reduction Plan and our commitment to net zero by 2030
- Engaging our suppliers more deeply on shared sustainability goals
- Raising the bar again on how we measure, report and evidence our sustainability management
