About the client
Established in 1901, Guarantee is an independently-owned business with sites in Dorset and Wiltshire. It provides a quality linen hire service under contract to up-market hotels.
BCR Associates has managed the procurement of energy supplies for Guarantee over the last three years, as well as assisting in providing infrastructure support and management of the company’s energy contracts. Having acquired a new site for expansion of the business, Guarantee asked us to assist with installing major energy equipment and providing sizeable infrastructure to increase the level of gas capacity to the site.
The cost of the new meter installation was estimated at £40-50,000 including site works and adjustments. The business now required a large capacity and bespoke upgrade including piping, infrastructure, new meters and supplies; therefore we undertook a thorough tender process to secure a contract to include both the costs of the meter and works.
Our solution provided a cost-effective alternative to funding the extensive groundworks and infrastructure changes. Whilst the works and new meter installation took place over the course of a year, the supplier held the agreed rates until the contract start date. This meant that with the market increases over that period, the meter and installation project soon became cost neutral. Electricity and gas contracts were also secured for the business’ original site and with our assistance Guarantee was able to focus resource on additional development requirements for the new site.
