Penspen is a leading independent group of companies providing Studies, Engineering, Project Management, Operations and Maintenance and Integrity services to the Oil and Gas Industry for pipelines,
transportation, storage and production facilities, both Onshore and Offshore.

With over 1,600 staff working in over 15 offices worldwide the company has undertaken well in excess of 8,000 projects in a wide range of technical and geographical areas.

Client requirements:

Multiple contracts ending at different times and sitting with different offices provided a challenge for Penspen management to coordinate.

The core business of Penspen is the provision of engineering services in a worldwide market, however the distraction to non-core management time looking at multiple utility contracts was wasting both time and money. BCR Associates was approached to provide a professional consultative service to rationalise and coordinate the utilities purchasing.

Our approach:

Energy, telecommunications and water services were reviewed to identify areas where excess costs could be converted back to profits for the company.

Through a consultative approach Penspen were offered a full management service that would remove the administrative burden from senior management.

The project:

After assembling the vast amount of paperwork and carrying out a full review, the multiple sites were brought together under the management of BCR Associates.

Timely renewals and purchasing allowed Penspen's management to focus on their core business
